Antithesis

In your eyes
I see the tears
Of a love struggling
To find a foothold
On the cold crags
Of my frozen feelings

These words flowed
Like fresh honey
These words purred
Like a snuggling cat
Once upon a time

Some things never change
My solitude
My melancholia
Partners in crime

Strewn
All around me
Are fragments of hope
Scarred and burnt

Eternal
My love
Fleeting
Your smile

                                                                        Perhaps
                                                                        I’m to blame
                                                                        But remember
                                                                        You are not clean
                                                                        You are not a saint
                                                                        Either

                                                                        Don’t waste
                                                                        Your breath
                                                                        Cursing me
                                                                        As you said
                                                                        I’m not worth it

                                                                        Go ahead
                                                                        Blame me
                                                                        For everything
                                                                        You were so good
                                                                        At that anyway

                                                                        Perhaps you forgot
                                                                        The heavy silence I got
                                                                        From you
                                                                        When I had opened
                                                                        My heart
                                                                        For you, twice?

                                                                        My silence
                                                                        Was not
                                                                        Of my own
                                                                        Making

                                                                        You
                                                                        Like many others
                                                                        Refused
                                                                        To cross
                                                                        The doorstep

Your words came
Like the sea
Drowning me
In questions of
What if?

And now the dreams
Can be burnt
In one big bonfire
As farewell signs

Sometime, somewhere
When someone whispers
Look around
It might be me

Somewhere
We will live
And dream
About a love
Left to dry out
In the harsh glare
Of our indifference

Silence
Reigns supreme
Gloating over
Our still-born dreams

Thesis

Dew drops
Line your lips
I lick them off
Tasting the smile
Underneath

—–

The rose blooms
In your eyes
And fills me
With the fragrance
Of your soft skin

——

I open
My mouth
And speak
Your name
Aloud
And
Hear my
Heart beat
Faster

—–

My fingers
Moving along
Your curves
Finding, feeling
Love’s many shapes

—–

The sun shines
In my eyes
And in the
Bright blankness
I see you looking
At me
With a slow smile
Forming a single dimple

—–

My eyes-
Mirrors of love
Swirling with
Fragments of you

—–

All the thrills of life
if distilled will not fill
my eyes with enough
tears to cry for a love
lost without you

Electric Dreams

I celebrate life
In electric dreams

Jumping over elemental mountains
Swimming under DNA fountains

Serendipity beckons
With a nod
Of her electronic head

“Let us praise blind vision
Let us raise atomic fission?

A procession
Of gods and demi-gods
Like broken lightning rods

In the dark
Withdrawn stimuli
Lead the way
To the neighborhood park

A smell
Of metallic urine
And soft shit

Disparate Dreams

It’s your breath
That gives shape
To the love lining
My falling tear drops

——-

Silence pours
Out of my palms
An offering of peace
To my distant goddess

——

You spoke and went
Leaving me there
To sift through the sands
For your vented words

——

Two full stops
And yet
My heart beats
The familiar rhythm

——-

Your mouth
Wraps around my words
Rolling them around
Like fresh green grapes

——–

I thought I felt
You yesterday
In a thought that
Kissed my lonely lips

——-

I woke up
And thought of you
Sitting in a chair
Covered by
My blanket of love

——–

It is evening
And I await
Your call-
My evening star

Twice

Too many times
I have stopped
Too many times
I have thought

Instead of

Saying what
That matters
Saying what
That counts

And now
At this moment
When I suddenly
Feel
Your presence
In my heart

Like the whiff of your perfume
Like the taste of your tongue
Like the curve of your smile

I know
For sure that
I love you

———

Those rides
On the bike
While the evening
Let off its last breath
I remember them

Those wet kisses
In the green room
While time lost
Its temper
I remember them

Those long looks
In dim diners
While love lurked
In our eyes
I remember them

Those warm hugs
On the rock
While the wind
Whispered our names
I remember them

Those silly fights
Over little words
While the days
Crept off the calendar
I remember them too

But
That last goodbye
On the road
When the sun shone
On our golden tears
I remember the most

Sometimes

            Sometimes
when the shadows begin
            to lengthen
the huge distance between
            you and me
I take a deep breath and
             play back all
those quiet moments we
            experienced
under those trees and rocks
            when the sun
was low and the light fading
            our fingers
tracing skin textures and
            our lips
wrapped around each other
            like symbols
of a love yet to be defined
            I miss you

Cyberoptic

These keys
That I tap
For sonic delight
And literary sunlight
Produce packets
Of ancient lore
Covered by cobwebs of thought-bore
I blow away
The colluding threads
With the breath of my dreams
So do you see them now?
Lilac-colored tales
From the digital entrails
Of the cyberoptic underground

Bittersweet Bookmarks

You lived
In my eyes
As a traveling teardrop

——-

In your hands
I saw the crochet work
Of love corrupted

——-

Across the room
You stood
Waiting for my words
To roll out the red carpet

——-

The night
Came to pass
In the space
Between our raised eye-brows

——–

The stars
Put to sleep
My passions; reawakened

——–

Sunshine stooped
To enter
Our eyes lowered
In mutual shame

——–

Those words
You dropped
Like coins in a box
Now clink, whenever
I call out your name

——–

These tears
Fall on the floor
And turn into
Letters of love

——–

Let me leave
These words
In your heart
As bookmarks
Of our love

Love

At low tide
I found love
By my side
Cleansed-
By the blue dawn
Perceptive and indulgent

At high tide
I found love
Tortured by pride
In broken sea shells
Brittle and suspicious

At dawn
I found love
On my green lawn
Lying naked
Vulnerable and cruel

At night
I found love
Hidden from sight
In my heart
Polite and pensive

Collected Fragments

I wish
When I woke up
I’d find
Your hair and arms
Draped around my
Face and shoulders
In trusted abandon

——-

In your eyes
I saw
A myriad collection
Of my personal poetry

——-

Sooth
My inferior fears
With a touch
Of your inspired innocence

——-

At night
I want to sink
Slowly
Into the torpid depths
Of your weary eyes

——-

Dreams
Fail me in
Recreating
Your physical magic

——–

I want to evaporate
Like a dew drop
In your porous passion

——–

Your teardrops
Forming
Pools of pearls
In my open
Love

——–

On the bed, we
Intertwined
Human shapes
Of intangible emotions

——

Your animal smell
Wrapped around my
Open senses
Like a silken veil
