In May 2008, I had gone on a road trip along with a few friends to Trier in Germany and Strasbourg in France from Bonn. Even though I had scanned the photos from the trip a long time back I never got around to posting them except for one photo. So over the next few days there will be a small series on my impressions of Strasbourg. Incidentally, I played poker for the first time on this trip and Andreas was the one who taught me how to play it. After that poker became a favorite game.

The Slide

This kid would repeatedly run from the top of this rock and launch himself onto the bare and slippery rock and slide down the water and plunge into the shallow pool at the bottom of the rock. One wrong step and there was danger of him smashing his face on the rock or breaking some bones!
Innocence

He was selling little crowns made of faux metal, similar to the ones worn by beauty queens after winning fancy titles like Miss Universe or Miss World, to tourists outside the Golconda fort. It was his after school job.

I went to Vizag, had fun traveling around, came back and promptly fell sick for a week! Inspite of that and the 7 kms we had to trek in the mid afternoon heat to reach these caves (no local transport due to general elections) I’d say this place was worth it. I was visiting it after about 13 yrs so it was great in the time lapsed sense as well.
