I’ve mixed feelings about this shot. On one level the abstractness appeals to me but on the other hand the lack of obvious interest points in the photo seems to make it too vague. But in the end I liked the whole ‘what the hell was he thinking when he took this?’ mood this photo evokes and so decided to post it!

This was shot in Vienna in a museum dedicated to (apparently) the oldest or oldest functioning Ferris Wheel in the world. This was one of the many exhibits, housed inside old tram cars and depicting, through these displays, Vienna during different time periods in her history.

This is my friend Christof who is a classmate in my grad program. This was taken on our grad school retreat last month in Gerolstein, Germany.

This is the first time I’m trying out a (heavy) toning like this. I’ve to say I like the result but I’d be very interested to know what you think.

Shot through the cage in very low light therefore the quality is not that great but I still like the way the owl looks back.
