Yesterday, I decided to post only people photos here for the next one week. So today’s photo is the second in the series, yesterday’s being the first.

Diwali

Diwali

Yesterday was Diwali. Also called Deepavali , it is a major Hindu festival. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. The festival of Diwali is also about harvesting. Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional diyas. Fireworks are associated with the festival in many regions of India. Read more here. (Source: Wikipedia)

This was at a friend’s house where I was invited for dinner. It was a lovely evening with delicious food and wonderful company. Thank you Smita!
